Dear Central Church family,

The church remains a beacon of hope. For those in need, God asks us as His people to open our arms, widen the circle, and embrace all who come into His house.

In recent weeks, tough and seemingly dire financial setbacks across the nation and the world have brought an air of uncertainty not felt in recent memory. Right here at Central, many retirees have felt the decline of their assets that generate their income, many parents of students looking for loans have begun to feel the pinch of tight credit markets, and many of us still building our future nest egg see nothing but red figures in our bank statements. While the long-term prospects of our economy are good, the short-term toll of this financial turmoil has tempered even the “most generous” attitude in many of us.

In light of these volatile financial times, the Campaign Committee has decided to extend the campaign in order to be sensitive to the current economic conditions and to the short term financial situations facing all of the church members. By extending the campaign we stay focused on our ultimate goal, but we proceed at a pace and timing that will better enable us all to make our eventual gifts to the campaign.

We know that certain things will change and certain things will not change.  What will change is the economic situation. What will not change is the vision of this church.

Blessings in Christ,

New Family Life Center and Facility Renovations

Guided by thoughtful and prayerful vision, Central United Methodist Church is in the planning stages for a new Family Life Center and upgrades to our current facilities.

As an expansion of both space and faith, the new Family Life Center and accompanying renovations will enhance accessibility, expand our ministries and provide new connections to the community.

These plans were unanimously approved at the church's Charge Conference meeting on April 6.  Refer to the documents below for more details on the meeting, and for a look at the beautiful schematics and renderings of the proposed new Family Life Center.
