Upcoming Mission Opportunities
Haywood Street Respite

Haywood Street Respite is the newest program of the Haywood Street Congregation.  This is a home-like environment where homeless adults can stay for one to two weeks after being discharged from the hospital to finish their recovery in a safe and stable environment. The program is intended to stop the downward spiral that often begins when homelessness and poor health collide.
Volunteers are needed to drive respite guests to and from doctor’s appointments on weekdays; provide a hot supper for 8-10 individuals; stay overnight on the weekend; or offer the ministry of presence to our Friends during their time with us on any day of the week. Nurses are needed to provide on-call coverage for referrals on Friday-Saturday-Sunday. Supply drives are also helpful to collect basic household items like laundry detergent (HE), dishwashing detergent, toilet paper, and paper towels.
