Under the direction of Russell Nelson, Central United Methodist Church is blessed with an outstanding, full music program that includes the adult Chancel Choir, children and youth choirs, hand bell choir, and brass ensemble. Corey Powell, Organist and Music Associate, provides music on pipe organ and piano.
There are many opportunities for all ages to come before Him with joyful singing! Come be part of this exciting, growing ministry.
Schedules for all choirs are listed below.
Adults
The Chancel Choir provides the music for both traditional worship services on Sundays at 8:45 and 10:55 a.m. The choir practices on Wednesdays from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. in the choir room. Adults of all ages, as well as high school students, are invited to join this talented group of over 50 singers. Director: Russell Nelson Schedule Summer 2010
Central Church’s Brass Ensemble is comprised of over 15 musicians who perform at various services and events throughout the year. The band rehearses Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. Director: Suzanne Brown Schedule 2010
The Handbell Choir features 15 ringers who provide special music throughout the year. Rehearsals are Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. Director: Corey Powell Schedule Spring 2010
Youth
Youth grades 6-12 are invited to sing in Central Church’s Youth Choir. Rehearsals are Sunday afternoons from 4:15 – 5:00 p.m. in the choir room. The choir sings for several worship services during the year. Director: Russell Nelson

Children
Children’s choirs are offered for ages 4 through 5th grades on Wednesday Nights from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Music Internships at Central
Central Church offers paid music internships for qualified college students. The program is designed for college music majors or minors, or students in other disciplines who are seeking training in music. The purpose of the program is to give the students an opportunity to learn and gain experience with performance, conducting, or other areas of church music, according to their interests. Excellent choral skills are required. Voice study or instrumental abilities are a plus. For more information or to apply, please download the brochure below.
The Saturday @ 6 Praise Band provides uplifting, high-energy praise and worship music for our contemporary worship service held Saturday at 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.
