The largest women’s organization in the world, the United Methodist Women (UMW), emphasizes services for women, youth and children by supporting missions in thousands of communities in every state and in over 50 countries around the world.
UMW are a community of believers in God and disciples of Christ who are called to deepen their personal faith and to provide vital corporate ministries of worship, education, mission, fellowship, and evangelism in the church and the world.
The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
You Are Invited
All women are invited to join one of the 6 UMW circles at Central Church. Come join women just like you—women of all ages; single and married; working and retired; moms, grandmothers and even great grandmothers. We are women who love to travel, quilt, cook, garden, read, do crafts, enjoy music and the arts. We learn from each other and make life-long friends.
If you would like to visit one (or more) of our circles listed below, please contact Maureen Carr at (828) 277-7065.
-Celebrating: The United Methodist Women will begin celebrating their 148th year in ministry with women, children and youth throughout our District, Conference, and world-wide. We help support several programs in the US and around the world. During 2016 we had 20 mission projects. Our Unit has six circles: Anna, Deborah, Eve, Martha, Rebekah and Ruth. All women are welcome.
-Blue Ridge District Prayer Breakfast will be held Saturday, March 18th at First UMC Weaverville.
