Worship at Central

Central United Methodist Church offers meaningful, powerful worship experiences every week through both traditional and contemporary worship services.
Traditional Worship
Sunday Morning Services
8:45 a.m. & 10:55 a.m.
Traditional-style worship services are held Sunday mornings in the main church sanctuary at 8:45 and 10:55 a.m. An outstanding, full music program includes the adult Chancel Choir, pipe organ and often performances by the children’s choirs, hand bell choir and brass orchestra. Thought-provoking, scripture-based sermons are provided by our ministers.
A nursery for infants is available for all services. Midway through the 10:55 service a special time of worship and fellowship is available for children ages two – second grade. These children are invited to attend Children's Church following the Children’s Moment.

Daybreak Community

Sunday Evenings from 5:30 p.m.—7:50 p.m.  (Through June 7, 2015)

The Daybreak Community is a recovery-based ministry of Central UMC in conjunction with the Asheville Urban Missional Network in Asheville, NC.  We strive to be a place of safety and healing to those suffering from the hurt and pain of life.  While some of our small groups focus on recovery from addiction and alcoholism, there is a place at the table for those suffering from a painful divorce, loss of a loved one, codependency, anger and other life events that can cause us to feel separated from God and the Church. We welcome anyone to join us for a meal, worship and open share small groups.  For more information visit

  • 5:30-6:15 – community meal.  The meal will be $4.00 per adult, and the kids eat free!
  • 6:15-7:00 – worship in the chapel.
  • 7:05-7:50 – small group meetings in various classrooms.

We will have childcare available during all portions of the evening.
